Calling All Melbourne Lovers

At the end of March Hubby and are heading to Melbourne for a few days.  I won the trip at work and so now we are considering what to do.  We will be in Melbourne for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and half of Sunday.

We are staying in the CBD and will be using public transport.  We have no plans other than to visit the Holocaust Museum at some stage.

So I want to hear from you if you live in or know Melbourne and have some ideas about must do/see/eat/visit places please let me know.

  1. Ooh I think you are in luck - international comedy festival is on end of march and Melbourne flower and garden show. And for a bit of nepotistic promotion my husband's in a band 'Relax with Max' who play at the Night Cat Fitzroy every sat night in march if you're into funk. Have fun.

Check out the laneways and arcades. Just walking and chatting, stopping for coffee. You can also take walking tours eg. chocolate.

This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Its on in March.

Pop over to LivingSocial Deals and see if you can grab a coupon for some pampering.

War horse is soon finishing and would be worth a look. Everyone is raving about it.

Have fun, there's lots to do.

  3. If you're in Melb on the 4th Saturday of the month check out the Slow Food Farmers Market at the Abbotsford Convent http://www.abbotsfordconvent.com.au/whats-on/slow-food-farmers-market

And of course there are lots of great bars to check out down back laneways. My faves include Bar Lourinha, Von Haus, City Wine Shop (OK that's on a main street) and New Gold Mountain.
